The Motion HDP surf kayak follows on from the great success of the Razor HDP surf kayak. Designed very much along the lines of modern wave ski hulls the Motion turns 'off the tail' making incredibly tight cut backs and lip turns.
Based upon the amazing 'Intruder' and 'Mustang', the Motion's performance is astounding. Fast, tight-carving turns are achievable with great dive back up the face of the wave.
There's plenty of room and floatation for bigger paddlers in the Motion – we found that even a 6'3" paddler weighing in at some 105kgs had no problem!
Motion outfitting includes three fin boxes, triple laminate foam pillars, moulded seat with foam butt pad insert, adjustable back strap, adjustable thigh braces, toggle ties and footblocks.
Flatter Rocker: Flatter rocker kayaks are faster and have more stability, as there is more area of surf kayak in the water. This can help beginners or indeed more competent surfers by using wave positioning to extract drive and flow to get maximum speed from the wave.
Swallow Tail: The Swallowtail or ‘Fish’ has the most tail area of all designs. It has good leverage for sharper turns and is a great small wave radical combination. It is great for beach breaks and snapping in the pocket.
Mid Rail: This is the most requested rail. Forgiving and suited to all surfing abilities, it doesn't sit too high or too low in the water so you don't float too much and don't tend to catch rails. This rail will work in both beaches and points and give good speed and turning ability, the perfect all-rounder.
Flat Hull: Flat bottomed to give speed in all situations, this hull is designed to give a smooth ride in choppy waves. It is a good beginners kayak and good for floaters and climbing white water.
